Lyrics English
My pig won’t let me watch T.V.
It’s totally unfair.
He watches anything he wants
But doesn’t even share.

I never get to watch cartoons
Or anything like that.
He’s busy watching farming
shows.
I should have got a cat.

I should have got a goldfish
Or a guinea pig or goat.
Instead I’ve got this pig
Who’s always hogging the remote.
Summary
This humorous poem describes a child who cannot watch
television because a pet pig controls the remote. The pig watches
whatever it wants, especially farming shows, and refuses to share the
television. The child jokingly wishes for a cat, goldfish, guinea pig,
or goat instead. The poem plays on the idea of a pig “hogging” the
remote. Its humour comes from treating the animal like a selfish
television viewer.
